High up on the cold stone,
frozen in its coil,
Stalking from Pyramidion,
ophidian gargoyle.
Silently awaiting,
for Sunlight to unveil,
Only the Equinox
unlocks its burning scales.
Let from the vein,
the bloodline are born again,
welcome back from the grave.
(Descent of the Serpent)
Fangs gleam like ice,
you are the sacrifice,
Descent of the Serpent.
Sidewinding down the temple,
to bridge the underworld,
Venom corrodes the soil,
as it boils the beast unfurls.
Striking at the spirits,
devours ancestral souls,
Constricting suffocating,
twisting minds within their skulls.
Let from the vein,
the bloodline are born again,
welcome back from the grave.
(Descent of the Serpent)
Fangs gleam like ice,
you are the sacrifice,
Descent of the Serpent.
Constricting,
suffocating,
sacrificing,
soul devouring.
Descent of the Serpent x4
Let from the vein,
the bloodline are born again,
welcome back from the grave.
(Descent of the Serpent)
Fangs gleam like ice,
you are the sacrifice,
Descent of the Serpent.

Allow me to copy Pagan Altar's third album title to describe not only III:Pentecost but the whole discography of Wytch Hazel so far: well, yes, it's Magical and Mythical!!! A must-have for the lovers of 70's hard sound revival. BoneWalker

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
